Qur’anic concept
Raḥma
Raḥma is mercy — the attribute the Qur’an most frequently ascribes to God. Every sura but one opens with the formula bismillāhi ar-raḥmāni ar-raḥīm ("In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful"). The Prophet Muhammad is himself described as a mercy to all creation.
From the Qur’an
"And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds."
"‘…My mercy encompasses all things.’"
