Nuh (Noah) is the prophet sent to a people who persisted in idolatry for nearly a thousand years. He built the ark on God’s command and was saved along with the believers and a pair of every kind. Sura 71 is named after him.
From the Qur’an
"Indeed, We sent Nuh to his people, saying, ‘Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.’"
"And it was said, ‘O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain].’ The water subsided, the matter was concluded, and the ark came to rest on [Mount] al-Judi."
Nuh is called one of the "five prophets of firm resolve" (Ulul-Azm) along with Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Muhammad.
